TJ Hamilton Profile pic

TJ Hamilton is a former New South Wales Police Officer who worked in various areas of policing around inner city Sydney. She also holds a degree in Criminology through Griffith University. Her love of crime and mystery started at an early age after she read her first Agatha Christie novel at the age of nine. Her fascination with the darker side of life came from living with a high-class escort when she first moved to Sydney in her early twenties. She developed a close understanding of these ‘ladies of the night’ over the years and loved the stories they told, most of whom she has still remained friends with to this day. TJ writes about her first love, the city of Sydney, and the wonderful places around this fabulous location. Her attachment to fashion is also present within her stories, thanks to her handsome Husband and his successful international modelling career. Writing came after leaving the Police Force when she was pregnant with her daughter, she sat down one day and started typing and has not stopped since. Nowadays TJ lives a quiet life in the tropics as a devoted mother and wife who loves her kitty-cats, far from the gun-slinging and criminal-catching days of the past. The action packed life she may have once had is now relived through her sexy fictional stories of mystery and intrigue.

Hellfire by Rickard B. DeMille

AnnMarie's Reviews

Book Review Corner

Hellfire by Rickard B. DeMille

(A Travis Deacon Novel)

This is a story filled with action, adventure, mystery, suspense, espionage, treachery, romance, you name it.

I definitely wanted to know more from the beginning. The story opened with a great introduction to the fact that it took place in the UK and that the main character in the story was from the US. I may not have understood many of the UK references, but that was ok because Travis was just as confused as I was. The humor brought me in at first, and then the mystery regarding Gareth hooked me further.

Reading this book felt a lot more like watching a movie than reading a book. I felt that I could see the characters well when they were explained in detail, but even more when they were explained with comical nicknames. In fact, I pictured Travis as Jason Stathem.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading Hellfire. I don’t typically read mystery suspense and action for pleasure, but this one has introduced me to the genre in a positive way. I have always enjoyed movies that are similar to this story, and now I know that I enjoy reading them too.

The humor in the story added that little piece of something extra that most stories lack when there are tragedies involved, which was also quite refreshing.

My recommendation for Hellfire by Rickard B. DeMille: If you enjoy a little mystery, action and suspense, with a little humor mixed in and a rush shouting, "God Save The Queen" you will love Hellfire. However, if you have a hard time with visually gruesome moments, this one may not be for you. This is a story that has blood and gore in the pages, but you will feel like you are watching a movie.

I give this title 5 out of 5 stars!

Excerpt

**Excerpt - A Changed World - Chapter 13 - Antagonistic Technologies**

Anne held out the feathers in her hands and the creature quickly reached out and closed Anne's fingers around the items, pushing them back towards her.

"You're sure?" Anne asked, the delight clearly spreading across her face. The creature looked at the table and began to pick up other feathers and beads, pushing them towards Anne in an attempt to get her to take more. After a moment, the shopkeeper stood back and surveyed Anne, taking particular interest in the small tufts of hair that were beginning to hang down. Then, it shook its head and retrieved some of the goods it had given her. It said a few quick and happy-sounding words, and disappeared into the shop. John heard continued babble, before its head popped through the opening with a puzzled look. It reached out for Anne's arm and drew her through the doorway, with John and the others quickly following.

As John entered the shop, he saw the blue illuminations he'd become so used to were absent. In their place, small brightly coloured globes hung from the ceiling as if a vibrant and fluorescent galaxy of planets was shining bright light into the world. He stooped so as to avoid becoming entangled in them. Whilst the cavern provided ample room, the height of the small shop certainly wasn't meant for humans. Across the room, the small, thin creature was burbling excitedly towards Anne, picking various glass boxes off the counter and holding them up to her face. As John neared, he saw that each of the tiny translucent containers held tiny plants; a splash of vivid green moss, a rosette of purplish fronded foliage, a cluster of beige leaves with a stem that held minuscule circular-shaped flowers.

"I think she wants you to have one," John said as the creature began to chatter excitedly upon holding up a small box containing a violet flower. He had no idea whether it was a woman or not, but his mind was already categorising the smaller creatures as females and the larger, muscled ones, such as the guards, as male.

"Do you think I should?" Anne beamed, looking around to John with almost as much excited anticipation as the shopkeeper seemed to have.

"What are they?" John asked.

"I think these are the plants they have on their skin."

"In that case, hell yes you need to get one."

In fact, John would quite happily have one himself. There was a particular clump of evergreen moss with yellowish flower stalks that he was imagining being etched into his shoulder.

Anne nodded at the shopkeeper, who instantly ushered Anne over to a small foamy seat at the back of the small shop. The female creature pushed her hand into the wall and withdrew a small box from the gel matrix, popping it open to reveal a thin metal instrument that looked like a pair of tweezers but with extremely sharp and pointed ends. Turning her attention to Anne, she put a finger to her own face, pointing towards a spot just above the brow and indicating where it might look best.

"What do you think?" Anne asked, turning towards John, Viktor and Amity.

"Maybe towards the corner of your eyebrow," Viktor said, creeping up to sit by her side. Anne pointed to the place on her face and the shopkeeper nodded in understanding. With her long and dexterous fingers, she slipped the lid off the small box, before carefully using the tweezers to pluck out the thin white stem of the violet flower. John saw there was a miniscule root on the end of it, and the alien woman carefully rotated the plant so the root was perfectly in line with the tip of the tweezers. Reaching back behind her, she pressed her hand into the wall again and, this time, withdrew a small pot. She dipped the root of the plant into the pot before replacing the container back into the wall. Then, as she raised the tiny plant towards Anne's face, she allowed her slender fingers to grip Anne's jaw tightly so that, if Anne winced, her mobility was as restrained as possible. It only took an instant for the tweezers to puncture the skin above Anne's eyebrow, and before John knew it, the creature was withdrawing the tool, leaving the single stalk in place.

"How does it look?" Anne said.

"Amazing," Amity beamed, and John was sure that she too was now desperate to have her faced swathed in flowers. As Anne moved her head, the small violet flower floated up and down on its single thread-like stalk.

The woman began to babble again, and she pulled Anne to her feet before dragging her over to the wall. A quick swipe upon a panel and a mirror flashed into life, allowing Anne to get the first look at her latest adornment.

"I love it," she gasped, smiling and touching the edges of the petal with extreme care.
"It doesn't hurt a bit. You should all get them," she added.

"Perhaps not a flower," Viktor said, leaning in and kissing her. "I'm not sure I'm quite ready for that."

"I saw some moss and lichen over here, Viktor. We could have a swirl added to our necks."

John turned towards the table, intent on not missing out, only to realise that several large and lean looking aliens were now standing in the doorway. They were framed by the light of the cavern and filled the entire arch of the entrance, looking displeased. One strode in angrily and began to shout aggressively towards the shopkeeper, who was quickly defended by Anne. She pushed herself between the two, and despite the angry individual pushing its head back and forth to try and pick on the shopkeeper behind, Anne stood her ground. It seemed to stop any argument that might've been brewing, but the newcomers wasted no time in ushering the four humans out of the shop and back onto the promenade. John took a fleeting look at the small container holding his moss. He'd have to wait for another moment to embrace this new and weird way of life.

Blog Tour: Nicky Charles

Nicky Charles

Nicky Charles is an independent writer/publisher who became an author quite by accident. She always saw herself as a ‘reader not a writer’ and can thank—or blame, depending on the day—her friend/editor and fellow author, Jan Gordon, for the career she now finds herself immersed in. The tale goes something like this:

In January of 2009, Nicky penned a fanfiction for an old TV series, “Scarecrow and Mrs. King”, and soon became ‘hooked’ on story telling. She joined a fan-based group for the show and through there met Jan Gordon. It was an idle comment made by Jan during a review of Black Silk (Jan’s newly published book) that inspired Nicky to write her first original story. Over the course of the next two months, she hastily scribbled down a suspense driven romance entitled Forever In Time and presented it to the world in August of 2009. Soon after, she wrote The Mating, a paranormal romance and followed it up with The Keeping and The Finding. The three stories formed a loose paranormal trilogy called The Law of the Lycans. Nicky continues to expand the Lycan series and has a long list of possible plots waiting in the wings.

Nicky works full-time and writes in her off-hours, few though they may be! In the next few years she hopes to retire from her day job and concentrate more of her energy on her new passion of writing.

When she writes, Nicky sees the story unfolding in her head like a movie and tries to include enough detail so that readers can ‘see’ the story just as she does. The sights, sounds, smells and sensations of a scene are almost as important to her as the actual plot.

Creating main characters that are ‘real’ is also something she strives for. Nicky tries to make each character different, to give them an interesting back story, to make their actions and feelings logical and to hopefully make the reader actually care what happens to the people in the story.

Nicky lives in Canada and tries to stick to Canadian spelling and punctuation in her work, in support of her country. She is an avid supporter of animal shelters, nature conservancy, food banks and a variety of other charities. Currently she has two ‘inside’ cats and one official ‘outside’ cat though a number of strays seem to take up residence in her garden each year.

When not writing, Nicky enjoys reading – though she often bemoans that she seldom has time for it any more. Her favourite authors are Elizabeth Peters, S.C. Stephen and Cherise Sinclair. She also enjoys spending time out in nature, gardening, taking day trips and eating dark chocolate.

You can connect with Nicky Charles at her website: www.nickycharles.com or her Facebook fan page.

The Mating (Original Law of the Lycans, book 1)

She lay beside him, staring blankly at the ceiling. The deed was done. They were mated. It didn't matter that she had no love for him nor he for her. Political alliances were more important than feelings, or so she had been told. That fact was cold comfort right now as her heart broke within her.

Beside her, he stirred and she sensed him rolling over, his amber eyes staring at her. She made no move to look at him and instead tried to steady her breathing. It was no use. As she inhaled, her breath quivered betraying her emotional state. Despite blinking rapidly, a stray tear trailed down her cheek.

Elise had no idea when she came home that day that she'd end up mated to a complete stranger. A new Alpha and the need for an alliance between packs have made her a pawn.

Review:

By: Susan Wasek, member of Nicky Charles' Street Team

It was the free price that first grabbed my attention but it was the well developed plot that kept me turning the pages. This book has it all...sexy alpha werewolves, an unforgettable cast of characters, romance with a bit of erotica, suspense with unexpected twists that keep you guessing, and an ending that has you downloading the sequel "The Keeping" along with the other books in the series. The Mating is reminiscent of the Middle Ages, were frequently arranged so that both families involved would benefit from the alliance, whether for political purposes or to gain wealth, property or prestige. Elise, our 19 year old virgin heroine has been raised knowing what was expected of her as the daughter of the Alpha. Kane, our hero is the kind, practical, hot sexy new Alpha of a neighboring pack. What our hero and heroine don't know is that someone is out to undermine, sabotage and destroy their future and their pack.  Nicky Charles has done a superb job of combining our old world style history with a paranormal twist in a modern setting creating her own new Lycan world. The end result leaves you asking for more!

This review is from: The Mating (Law of the Lycans) (Kindle Edition)

Nicky writes in a way that really pulls you into the story. You feel like you're actually there, seeing everything take place. The books are long enough that the plot and characters are very well developed. But all too quickly you get to the end and are reaching for the next book in the series.

Chapter 3 Excerpt:

...the man shrugged and gave her a slight smile.  “That’s Marla.  Just ignore her.  She has some ...issues.

Watching the woman slide up to Kane and rest her hand on his arm while smiling brightly, Elise wondered what the ‘issues’ might be.  Somehow, she just knew that Marla was not going to be welcoming her to the pack.

Chapter 7 Excerpt:

“You’re a little minx, Elise. Do you know what it does to me when you touch me like that?” She shook her head. Running his lips across her jaw, then raking his teeth down her throat, he murmured against her skin, “It drives me wild.  It makes me want to bury myself deep inside you.”

Chapter 9 Excerpt:

“Better be careful what you say, Zoe because one of these days you might just find I’m the one with the power.  And just like an elephant, I never forget.”  With that, Marla spun on her heels and stalked away.

“Her memory isn’t the only thing like an elephant,” Zoe said in a not so quiet voice.

When Bryan, pack Beta, appears to claim her, Cassie is forced to face the truth of her existence. Innocence, betrayal, greed and love collide with ancient werewolf laws in...The Finding

A blur of chocolate brown fur ran past him and he spun around, stunned at the sight. Was that a...? Dammit, it was!

A quick glance around revealed that there was no one on the street, but just in case, he ducked down behind a car to shift into his wolf form. Once he transformed, he took off after the little female werewolf. She was running as if the demons of Hell were chasing her. He sent up a quick prayer that no animal control officers were around and that she didn’t run across the road and get hit by a car!

He raced after her, his longer legs quickly eating up the distance between them. They were coming to the end of the road, a playground was straight ahead. Bryan scanned the area, thankful no children were about, then put on a burst of speed. He was almost upon her when she started to veer to the left. Quickly calculating her path, he cut across at an angle and leapt, slamming into her as she ran in front of him.

The impact sent them both rolling across the ground in a tangle of legs and tails. A cloud of dust billowed around them and Bryan sensed rather than saw her turning around, preparing to bite her attacker. Agilely, he twisted away, the sound of teeth clicking together letting him know he’d had a near miss. Before she could make another attempt, he hip-checked her, knocking her off balance and then scrambled around to straddle her. Gripping the scruff of her neck firmly in his teeth, he issued a low, warning growl. Instantly, she froze in response, only her heaving sides moving as she struggled to breathe after her headlong flight.

His wolf was excited to have her pinned beneath him and he flashed back to his recurring dream. This wasn’t a forest, but in every other way, the circumstances were the same.

We’ve chased the female down and now she is ours!

Cautiously, Bryan released the scruff of her neck and nuzzled her ear. She whined in response, tilting her head and exposing her throat. A rumble of pleasure sounded deep in his chest.

She is submitting to us! We should stake our claim and mark her!

He got up and circled around, sniffing her thoroughly. The scent of arousal was becoming stronger and the wolf in him fairly danced in excitement. Moving so they were nose to nose, he nipped and licked at her face, rubbing against her, marking her with his scent. She returned the favour, her breathing turning into excited pants.

Her scent was intoxicating and he couldn’t wait to get closer. She seemed to feel the same way, standing and bumping her body into his. Licking her muzzle, his human side wondered what it would be like to kiss her full plump lips. No sooner had the thought crossed his mind, than he shimmered and changed forms, using the power of his own transformation to pull her along with him. Before he knew it, Cassandra Greyson was in his arms, kissing him passionately.

Review:

If you are a PNR fan, particular a wolfette at heart, that loves a story where the heroine find themselves thrown into impossible situations and finds her own strength and voice during an arduous journey all the while falling for the hot irresistible sexy alpha who is a pigheaded, strong, loveable bad boy, who does crazy things, that have you shaking your mental cast iron skillet at them, before winning the female; and villains you love to hate and want to personally knock off just to save the main characters the trouble, then you will love The Finding. It is a titillating story that takes you on a journey of denial, deception, and desire. It will keep you guessing and just when you think you know where the story will end up, you are hit with an O.M.G. moment.

Where to find The Finding:

Betrayed can be found at the following:

Flutters of excitement stirred in her stomach. She tilted her head to the side in a silent request, allowing him easier access to her neck.  Rafe's kisses affected her like no one else's ever had, and with each encounter she found herself craving him even more. Taking her up on her unspoken offer, he gently bit on the exposed cord, then lathed the area with his tongue. Eve whimpered as the flutters inside her became a warm pool of need. She tried to turn to face him, but he tightened his arm around her waist. "Stay still." There was a rough edge to his voice, almost a growl and the sound of it sent shivers down her spine..."

The sixth installment in the Law of the Lycans

A banging on the door brought him out of his reverie and he realized he’d showered on autopilot. Wrapping a towel around his waist, he made his way to the door and opened it only to be greeted by his new employer’s glowering face.

“Are you drunk?” She spoke bluntly, eschewing all the normal social niceties and barely gracing him with a glance before staring around the room.

Damien raised his eyebrows at her tone, then followed the direction of her gaze. The empty whiskey bottles lay on the floor by the chair in which he’d spent most of the night. “And good morning to you, too. No, I’m not drunk, only pleasantly numb.”

“Good. We don’t have time to waste waiting for you sober up. If you’re going to drink, do it on your own time.”

“And when is my own time?” He leaned his hip against the nearby dresser and folded his arms over his chest.

“Whenever I say.” She flicked her eyes over his mostly naked body, showing no signs of embarrassment. “Get dressed and meet me downstairs in the kitchen. We’ll talk while you eat.” Without further ado, she turned on her heel and left.

Damien straightened and pushed the door shut fighting to keep an unfamiliar grin from his face. God, she was a spitfire. And cool, too. He had no false modesty over his appearance. It was a well-documented fact that women still swooned over him, but she hadn’t even batted an eye.

Drying himself off, he dressed and made his way to the kitchen at a leisurely pace despite the fact that he knew she meant for him to haul ass. Samantha Harper could bark orders all she wanted. He’d obey only when it suited him. And right now, it suited him to piss her off.

Damien leaned against the brick wall, its rough surface lightly digging into his shoulder through a rip in his shirt. He was breathing hard, sweat trickling down his face, the still, heavy air doing nothing to help cool him off. With each inhalation, he took in the scents of the city; exhaust fumes, garbage, humanity… The back alley of one city smelled very much like that of another though this one had one significant difference. Lycans.

The she-wolf across the alley from him had her butt propped against the edge of a dumpster, her hands braced on her knees as she stood, half hunched, trying to catch her breath. The fight they’d just completed had been exhilarating as she’d matched him move for move. He’d barely needed to hold back; her speed and agility making up for what she lacked in size and muscle. Already, faint aches and pains were letting themselves be known, and no doubt in brighter surroundings he’d find a fine array of bruises decorating his body.

Grabbing the edge of his shirt, he gave his face a quick wipe, careful to keep one eye on his opponent. When Kane had described the petite female who acted as Samuel Harper’s spokesperson, he’d made her sound ineffectual. Damien had pictured her as demure, perhaps carrying a clipboard and peering over her glasses. While it was true she might not look like much of a threat, the last few minutes had shown it wasn’t wise to underestimate her. He wondered if Kane had set him up; purposely leaving out the information that the woman packed a lethal punch. Thanks, buddy.

Pushing off from the wall, he swallowed, wincing slightly at the pull of his dry throat and wishing he had a stiff drink. But there’d be time enough for that later. Instead, he focused on her.

“We done?”

There was a pause in her breathing and then he saw her nod.

“Yeah. I think we’re done.”

Had he really heard a hint of laughter in her voice? Damien eyed her speculatively as she straightened from her braced position. At some point their battle had moved from the street to the alley where they now stood. The faint light from a single bulb over the backdoor of a restaurant was the only illumination. It wasn’t much, but he was still able to make out her features. Short, dark hair, a petite yet muscular build. An alley fighter—a damned good alley fighter—and a female. Who’d have thought?

From the author of the Law of the Lycans series, an updated and revised version of her first novel:
Forever In Time by  Nicky Charles

"I'm waiting, Steph. I've been waiting a long, long time."

She was in there, he knew it. He'd been following her for weeks and knew every move she made. There'd be no escaping him. Time was on his side.

Stephanie thought she was ordinary. Her life was stable, or at least it was until the stranger appeared. Was he the answer to her dreams or a nightmare?

Stephanie felt herself sinking into him, becoming lost in the taste and scent and feel of the man.  His warm, muscular body pressed against hers; his hair was thick and silky under her fingers.  It seemed so familiar, so right, like she’d kissed him a thousand times before...

He took a sip of coffee and glanced at her over the rim.  “Do you believe in fate?  Destiny?”
“No.”  She answered bluntly.

“You should.  Fate, destiny – whatever you want to call it – it does happen.”

He hoped she could accept him as her destiny.  She was meant for him, as he was for her.  That was all that mattered.

Reviews:
If you like stories that will have you glued to the pages, guessing how they are going to end, then Forever in Time is for you! With suspense at every turn and romance sprinkled throughout, it is a fantastic read that I highly recommend!                                                                                         - S.C. Stephens, author of Thoughtless and Conversion

It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time trying to determine who was the 'good guy' vs the 'bad guy.' You really should read it!
      –Jasmine1, Goodreads reader review

How long would you wait for true love?  If you found it, would one lifetime be enough?  Read Stephanie and Jake’s story to find out how they answer those questions.  This novel transcends both time and genres.  It’s more than just an ordinary romance , thriller, or sci-fi novel.  It’s a delicious combination of all three.  Forever In Time will keep you guessing until the end.  I couldn’t put it down until the last sentence.

What inspired you to write ‘Against The Clock’?

The need and the desire to write had been brewing for a while. I was just waiting for the right moment, the right story. This book was initially intended to be a novella, an introduction to something more.. but as the story and characters unfolded and developed, the ‘novella’ grew organically into a HUGE book, which I’ve decided to split into two. I really wanted to explore the feeling of loss, the feelings of anger and rage that surround that emptiness, and show that for some people, escape is only possible through acts they would normally see as against their moral code. We’re all familiar with people self medicating with drugs and alcohol as a means of coping, but I wanted to explore a different way with a female character that I see as being incredibly strong, yet incredibly damaged as well. And I wanted to do all that within a scenery of fast, furious and deadly action. I wanted it to be a story that moves forward with rapid speed, but that stays with the reader for long after they’ve finished reading it.

Which character in your book would you say you are most like? If any.

Whoa... There’s definitely apart of me in all of the characters. So don’t peeve me off, I just might let loose with a string of kung fu super moves! I don’t have a silenced Beretta, so...

I think there’s character traits I wish I had, like Shirin’s absence of fear, and traits I don’t want to have, like Selig’s megalomaniacal tendencies. I probably relate most to Ben - an ordinary guy, in love with an extraordinary woman, and thrust into a scenario way out of his comfort zone.  I have a feeling he is a character that is going to play a more integral role in future books.

What inspired you to become a writer?

The voices, images, stories in my head that I can’t get out any other way.

What are you most excited about the most for readers to experience/learn from your newest book?

I’m excited the most about sharing the thrills and heart pounding action the characters pull the reader through on their journey through the book. I just love to hear readers stories about how they couldn’t put the book down, how they sacrificed sleeping, or going out to dinner, or took a day off work, just to finish my book. It’s such an adrenalin rush for me!

Were you scared when you first published? Did you feel exposed or vulnerable?

It never really occurred to me. I was just so happy and excited to finish the book, and get it out there and share it with the world. I didn’t feel nervous or vulnerable until the first reviews started coming out. Thank goodness they were all 5 out of 5 stars!

Do you have ideas for dream cast members for your book?

If I name them here, will I get to meet them??

What do you do on your down time? What do you do to relax?

I love to go rock climbing! I’m relatively new to the sport, but I’m addicted to it. It just seems like defying gravity, defying what is ‘normal’. It really is a challenge. One of the first times I went climbing was in the Blue Mountains out west of Sydney, I was about 40feet up a steep cliff face, stuck, with no idea how on earth I was going to move one more foot. I seriously thought about quitting and telling my partner to lower me down. But somehow, I found a small hand-hold and moved up. 50 more moments like that and I made it to the top of the cliff! It was the most rewarding and most exciting moment since I’d gotten married. I’m pretty keen on skydiving too! But that is an expensive way to relax...

What do you love most about being a writer/author?

I get to live out every secret desire, or impulse that I normally wouldn’t be able to. And I get to have an influence on people’s lives. I give people moments in their lives they won’t readily forget (at least I hope so).

What do you hate most about being a writer/author?

Not all my characters are nice people. Not all the things they do are things I can relate to, or agree with. I find getting into their head space very disturbing sometimes. Some days I had to drink a whole pile of scotch and watch ‘Scrubs’ a ridiculous comedy, just to get my normal head space back.

What writers/authors have inspired you?

Robert Ludlum, Vince Flynn, Eric Lustbader, Dean Koontz and recently Andrew Peterson

When you get stuck in a story, how do you get through it?

Write! And keep writing!

Do you listen to music when you write?

Sometimes. If it’s a dramatic scene, or quiet scene I like silence. But when I’m thick in the middle of intense action I like to put some headphones on and crank the music loud! I had a lot of My Chemical Romance playing for this book.

Can you write anywhere? Or do you need a specific place to write?

I can. Where I write really depends on what’s happening in my life. I started ATC writing from my car on my laptop. My wife was studying, and couldn’t drive to the college, so I would drive her there, and spend the day parked somewhere close by and write all day. It was a great way to avoid the distractions at home. And when my wife was home, I’d go out to a nearby lake, or spot in the mountains, set up a folding chair, thermos with coffee and write until the mosquitoes were bored of me, or I had the urge for a toilet that flushes. In the summer (Australian summers can be deadly hot) I’d find a nice cafe with air-conditioning, or just stay home with aircon cranked up on full.

Do you have advice for aspiring authors?

Write! And keep writing!

What was the worst advice you were given in the beginning of your writing career?

I had lots of bad advice.. for example; shaping what I write to fit the latest trend, or give up on writing and get a real job and so on.. All the bad advice I can think of came from a place of insecurity and/or from a person with little or no belief in themselves or their abilities. I’m not a fan of advice. I’m more a fan of support.

What was the best advice you were given in the beginning of your writing career?

The best advice I ever got, and the only advice I ever offer, is WRITE! AND KEEP WRITING! It stands true in any situation. Whether it be a case of writers block, a bad review, lack of sales, a story that doesn’t seem to be working, not sure where the story or characters are going, self doubt... no matter what, if you keep writing you can always come back and polish what you’ve written, edit it, or even scrap it. But there’s not much you can do with nothing.

Charlie Moore was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. He started work on his first full length novel at age 18. When running through final edits for the book, he put it aside; wanting to live and experience some of the adventures his characters were thrust into. He became an accomplished martial artist, winning his first full contact fight by TKO and gaining over 30 medals before retiring from competition. He traveled the globe, got lost in dangerous parts of the world, swam with sharks, jumped out of planes, and became a Private Investigator.

Resuming his passion for writing, Charlie started ghost writing to build and harness his skill, and in mid 2012 "Against the Clock" was born.

Charlie now shares his time between rock climbing with his wife, and writing deadly action-packed thrillers.
