Unusual Awakening by S.M. Knowles
(Rylee Everley Series – Book 1)
Unusual Awakenings is a great book for YA audiences. I believe that most teenage girls will be able to relate to Rylee on some level, especially those that have experience with a parent in the military (or any other job that they would be gone a lot).
The story starts off as a typical teenage girl, dealing with the absence of her deployed father and emotionally absent mother. The reader will never expect what is coming for Rylee near the middle/climax of the story! I believe that readers will be pleasantly surprised with the turn the series takes in the first book, and begging for more with the second book to come! It’s definitely a plus that readers will not need to wait long, book 2 in the series is set to release next month!
My recommendation for Unusual Awakening by S.m. Knowles: If you enjoy twists, thinking you know whats going on only to find out something you never expected, this book is for you. I recommend this book as a YA that will be enjoyed by ages 13-20 the most, but also enjoyed by those of us adults who like the simplicity and entertainment of YA in the 20-45 age range.
I give this title 5 out of 5 stars!
